Our solutions empower individuals to co-own their data with the platforms they interact with, giving them the ability to share, distribute, and even monetize it, placing them at the center of their digital universe. At the same time, we enable attestors to seamlessly monetize their data by issuing verifiable credentials, and requestors to confidently verify those credentials without relying on centralized intermediaries.

Role Overview

We are a lean, fast-moving team. In an environment like ours, there are no silos, no corporate bureaucracy, and no safety nets. Everyone is in the trenches. We are looking for a Product Manager who already has a solid grasp of blockchain fundamentals and core PM mechanics, and is ready to take full ownership of our product delivery engine.

This is not a hand-holding role. You will be a core operator from day one, acting as the primary execution engine for our roadmap. Your mandate is to translate high-level product strategy into flawless technical execution, running sprints, writing ironclad specs, and actively unblocking engineering to ensure we scale our output without losing speed or quality.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Feature Ownership: Work alongside the Head of Product to take specific features from concept to launch. You will own the translation of product ideas into technical specs, by creating detailed user stories, user flow diagrams, and strict acceptance criteria.
• Sprint & Delivery Management: Run the daily product engineering engine. You will own Jira management, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily standups, serving as the immediate, go-to resource for engineers on requirements.
• UAT & Technical Quality Control: Act as the final line of defense before production. You will run user acceptance testing (UAT) against your specs, ensuring features shipped match features designed.
• Triage & Friction Reduction: Act as the primary filter for inbound bugs and cross-functional feature requests. You will reproduce issues, prioritize them logically, and shield the engineering team from distraction.
• Data-Driven Problem Solving: Actively track feature performance and user flows. You will identify friction points in the user journey, propose intuitive feature optimization, and map out initial flows to align the team.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a highly resourceful, execution-focused PM who thrives in ambiguous, dynamic self-starter environments and is deeply passionate about cutting-edge decentralized tech.

You are a strong fit if you are:

• Execution-Obsessed: You live in the details of the delivery lifecycle. A messy backlog or an ambiguous requirement actively bothers you, and your instinct is to fix it yourself.
• Highly Autonomous: You own your domain. Once roadmap goals are aligned, you can break them down into technical milestones and execute them to completion with minimal oversight.
• A Systems and Logic Thinker and Problem Solver: You love puzzles. You can take a complex, multi-party user flow and cleanly map out the underlying sequential logic, dependencies, and data states required to make it work.
• Crypto-Native Mindset: You actively use the tech, navigate wallets and protocols firsthand, and fundamentally understand the challenges and nuances unique to Web3, blockchains and Bitcoin, Ethereum and others.
• Strong Opinions, Loosely Held: You have clear decisive views on product and the business, but zero ego. You advocate fiercely for the user and first-principles, and can pivot instantly when the team, data, or practical constraints show a better way forward to achieve those goals.

Requirements

Everyone at SELF has a Cypherpunk mentality, is blockchain-native, and is a defender of privacy and self-sovereignty. You must be as well.

• 3 years Product Management Experience: Direct, hands-on PM experience in an agile software environment, with a proven track record of shipping technical features.
• 3 years Blockchain Experience: Direct experience with decentralized ecosystems. You must understand the core mechanics of blockchain infrastructure (namely, Bitcoin), smart contracts (EVM and others), and wallet ecosystems.
• Strong PM Mechanics: Capable of writing highly comprehensive PRDs, scoping dependencies, and managing agile workflows (Jira).
• Data & Analytics Fluency: Practical experience using product analytics tools to analyze user behavior and inform product decisions.
• Exceptional Communication: The ability to articulate the why and the how with absolute clarity, leaving zero ambiguity for the engineering team or leadership.
• Startup & Ownership Mindset: You possess a true founder’s mentality. You think about company runway as if it were your own money.

Bonus Points: Familiarity with decentralized identity (DID) frameworks and/or verifiable credentials.
